The Acadiana Wreckin' Rams (1-2) were their own worst enemy last Friday night as costly penalties, a turnover and special team break downs were their undoing in a 21-24 loss to Carencro.  Give Carencro credit. They cashed in on the Wreckin Rams mistakes.

This week the Wreckin' Rams travel to the Barbe Buccaneers (1-2)  who have also struggled this year.  Usually this is a matchup of top 10  teams in the Louisiana Sports Writers Poll, but this year each team is in desperate need of a win.

Barbe has been a house of horrors for the Wreckin' Rams, as to the best of my knowledge, Acadiana is only 1-6 since Barbe began playing at their school.  The one win was in the State Quartefinals in 2013.

Amazingly, last year the Wreckin' Rams only lost 14-17 in a game completely dominated by Barbe.  The Buccaneers ran 70 plays to Acadiana's 38, as Barbe owned the time of possession battle, 41:24 to 18:36.

This season, Barbe has lost to Byrd 14-53, Mandeville 7-22, and beat St. Louis 19-3.

Barbe is lea by quarterback Gavin Nettles and running back Kirkland Banks.

Last week in Barbe's victory over St. Louis, the Buccaneer defense registered 6 sacks and Kirkland Banks returned a punt 79 yards for a touchdown.  The Wreckin' Rams will need to be sold in all 3 phases of the game.

The pre game show will start at 6:02 p.m. with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.  The game can be heard in the Acadiana area on sports radio espn 1420 am, espn1420.com and smart phone app radioPup.

Next week the Wreckin' Rams return home to face the Sulphur Golden Tornadoes.
