This is a game preview, written by the voice of the Wreckin’ Rams, James P. Bitterman.

The Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams (5-2, 4-0) increased their winning streak to 4 games last Friday night by beating the Lafayette High Mighty Lions 26-7.

Once again, a business like effort resulted in a Rams victory.  Myles Hutchinson led the Rams with 2 touchdown runs. Brian Lebon scored his first touchdown of the season, while the defense once again limited the Rams opponent to 1 touchdown, this one coming on the final play of the game. Not to be out done, Jayrin Wilson added an interception return for a touchdown.

This week the Rams square off with the Sam Houston Broncos (3-4, 1-2), whose starting offensive line sports two 350 pound lineman, and a 300 pounder as well.  I'm guessing they have no problem with a jumbo set?

The Broncos have a very talented running back in #23 Trevanti Thompson. He has had several 200 yard games and multi touchdown games on the season.

Acadiana must be solid in special team play, as the Broncos used a block punt and a fake punt to assist in their victory over the Carencro Golden Bears 31-28 back in week 4.

This week is also Homecoming for Acadiana High School. While most Coaches enjoy seeing the graduates of the school, there are a lot of distractions that go along with Hoco.  (This is my attempt to show I know the language of teenagers today.)

AHS will have next week off before playing the New Iberia Yellow Jackets on Thursday, November 5th, at Bill Dotson Stadium.

The game can be heard in the Acadiana area over the air on ESPN1420 and on the internet at espn1420.com, as well as the free smart phone app RadioPup.

These last two games are critical for the Rams. They’re currently listed at #16 in the unofficial power ratings, as computed by Louisiana Sportsline.  The top 16 teams get home games in the first round of the playoffs.
