Acadiana School Closures [Updated]

The following schools will be closing due to anticipated severe weather:

Schools:

• Lafayette Parish will keep schools open on Tuesday but will close them on Wednesday. In addition, Carencro Catholic School, Lafayette Christian Academy and Our Lady of Fatima School will all be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

• Academy of the Sacred Heart Grand Coteau will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

• St. Martin Parish will close schools in lower St. Martin Parish on Tuesday and Wednesday. Upper St. Martin Parish schools will close at 1 p.m. on Tuesday and will stay closed all day Wednesday.

• St. Mary Parish schools will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
  • Hanson Memorial High School Closed Tuesday and Wednesday
  • St. John’s Elementary School closed Tuesday and Wednesday
• Vermilion Parish schools will be closed Tuesday and the decision about Wednesday will be made at a later time.
• Vermilion Parish Catholic Schools Vermilion Catholic, Mt. Carmel, Maltrait Memorial, and St. Peter’s in Gueydan will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

College/Universities:

• UL Lafayette will close Tuesday at 2:00 pm and remain closed all of Wednesday.

• LSU Eunice will close Tuesday at 3:00 pm and remain closed all of Wednesday.
• LSU Baton Rouge will close Tuesday and Wednesday.
• South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) will close at noon Tuesday and remain closed through Wednesday and Thursday. Classes are planned to resume Friday morning.
• Southern University will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.

• Tulane University will be closed Monday at 5:00pm and all day Tuesday and Wednesday. School is expected to resume Thursday.

Organizations:

• Family Violence Intervention Program will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
• LANtec Corporate Training Center will cancel all classes at their Lafayette and Baton Rouge locations Tuesday and Wednesday.
• Southside Learning Academy in Duson will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
• St. Martin Parish Clerk of Courts office will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday.
