The Acadiana Wreckin Rams (1-2) open district play after two straight defeats, their first back to back losses since 2007.

Last week the Rummel Raiders (3-0) used a balance attack to beat the Wreckin' Rams 34-9.  Acadiana had several opportunities in the game, but their offense has sputtered for six straight quarters.

This week, the Lafayette High Mighty Lions (3-0) come calling on the Rams to open district play. The Lions are feeling confident with a perfect record and a defense that has surrendered only 20 points this year. On an interesting note, all 20 points given up have come in the second quarter.  The Lions have outscored their opponents 100-20 on the year.

LHS is led offensively by Keshawn Young. Young has gained 264 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns this season, while Tevin Kelly has added 224 yards rushing and 3 touchdowns of his own.

Acadiana is hoping a big dose of home cooking against an old rival can get the defending 5A state champions back on track.

Here is a friendly bit of advice. Get to the game early. LHS has only attempted 9 passes in 3 games and AHS has attempted 22. The clock operator shouldn't have a tough job tonight.

Next week the Wreckin' Rams travel to the Barbe Bucs.
