Acadiana Opens Season At Northside – Game Preview

The following is a game preview of Acadiana at Northside, written by the voice of the Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams, James P. Bitterman.

The Acadiana Wreckin' Rams open their 2016 season with the Northside Vikings.

The Rams are coming off a 28-21 victory over Teurlings in the jamboree. Ziggy Francis ran for 3 touchdowns and Bralen Trahan returned a kick off for a touchdown in the win over the Rebels.

The Rams look to be anchored this year by both the offensive and defensive lines.  The offensive line boasts three returning starters; Cameron Babineaux at left guard, Jonathan Simon at right guard and D'quanis Robertson at right tackle.  Acadiana's tackles this year both way 295 pounds, right tackle is Dylan Brown, and center Damien Handy weighs in at 301 pounds.  This certainly is the biggest offensive line in recent memory for the Wreckin' Rams.

The defensive line will see Blaise Davis back at defensive end and Lamar Christmas at defensive tackle.  They will be joined by Elisha Sian at defensive tackle and Bishop Breaux at defensive end.

The Rams have a challenging nine game schedule, with a bye in week 9.
