Keith Desormeaux is the oldest of six siblings from Maurice. His younger brother Kent is a little more widely known, but Keith's roots in horse racing run deep, going back to a bush track opened by their father, Harris, when they were kids. Keith is a veteran horse trainer of nearly thirty years. Kent has won three Kentucky Derbys, as well as 10 Breeder's Cup races. This Saturday, they team up to hopefully win their first Run for the Roses together. Keith is trainer and co owner of Kent's mount, Exaggerator. Keith has trained several horses with derby aspirations, but they've been derailed by injuries. The Desormeaux's won the Santa Anita Derby last month. Florida Derby winner Nyquist is the favorite, as of Tuesday night. Odds makers aren't discounting Exaggerator. Bon Chance Keith & Kent!
