The following is a game preview of Acadiana vs Barbe, written by the voice of the Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams, James P. Bitterman.

The Acadiana Wreckin' Rams (1-2) and the Carencro Golden Bears (3-0) hooked up in a typical Acadiana vs Carencro game last Friday night.  The game saw seven lead changes; with two coming in the final thirty seven seconds.  Acadiana would score on a one yard Bralen Trahan touchdown run to give the Wreckin' Rams a 27-24 lead; but the Golden Bears would complete a thirty six yard pass as time expired to win the ball game 31-27.

Things get no easier for the Wreckin' Rams as they open district play vs the Barbe Bucaneers (3-0).  Barbe is led by quarterback Gavin Nettles who has 581 yards passing in 3 games, although he sat out the second half of last week's win.

Also leading the way for the Bucs is running back Kirkland banks who has 431 yards rushing on the season.  Barbe has a trio of wide receivers the Wreckin' Rams will have to make sure don't have big nights in Nate Briscoe, Jaylon Smith and KeAndre Turner.

Last year's game came down to one of the most impressive drives in Wreckin' Ram history.  The drive started on the Rams own 15 yard line with 10:17 to go and scored on play number 20; a ten yard touchdown pass from Myles Hutchinson to Braylen Trahan.  The only person in the end zone with Braylen was the invisible man as Barbe sold out on the play fake, and the invisible man was not getting the ball from Braylen.

What will happen this year? The pre-game show starts at 6:02 p.m. with kickoff at 7:00 p.m.   The game can be heard over the air on the AM dial at ESPN1420. Fans can also hear the broadcast on espn1420.com and the free smart phone app RadioPup.
