Sometimes something bad can turn into something good.

For the Ragin' Cajuns baseball team and their fans, it's a great trip with great competition.

Fordham University was scheduled to come to M. L. "Tigue" Moore Field March 11-13.  But the Rams recently discovered they had two series scheduled that weekend and that presented a problem for the Cajuns:  a three game hole in the schedule the weekend before conference play begins.

And, with baseball schedules being done  a year in advance (the Cajuns already have a tentative schedule for 2012), that was going to be a tough hole to fill.

But it's all worked out.

The Cajuns will play in a tournament at AT&T Park, home of the World Champion San Francisco Giants, on those dates instead.

It will be a six team tournament.  Not everyone will play everyone and the schedule is not yet set.  But the University of San Francisco, Cal-Berkeley, Long Beach State, UC Santa Barbara and Rice will also participate.

The only thing certain, schedule-wise is that Rice and the Cajuns will play in the first game on Sunday, March 13.  This will be scheduled in order for both teams to fly home after the game.
