A big blow for Troy baseball
Troy's hopes of a possible #1 seed and a host site for an NCAA regional has taken quite a blow with the news that #2 started Drew Hull will miss the remainder of the season with an elbow injury that will require Tommy John surgery.
Troy (25-7, pRPI #24) is leading the Sun Belt Conference with a 10-2 record. Hull, pitching on Saturday, and Friday starter Tyler Ray has given the Trojans an almost unbeatable 1-2 pitching combination.
Hull (4-0, 2.07) had to be removed from last Saturday's game against Florida International. An MRI confirmed the ligament damage.
More on the story from Troy beat writer Drew Champlin.
