Seven big games highlight the Thursday night football schedule in the Acadiana area as week 7 begins.

The premier match-up is the big District 7-A contest between the Vermilion Catholic Screaming Eagles and the Central Catholic Eagles in Morgan City.

Vermilion Catholic, who is ranked 7th in the latest LSWA poll, is currently 4-2, overall, and 2-1 in district play, while Central Catholic currently number six in the latest poll, is unbeaten at 6-0 and 3-0, respectively.

The two highlight a district in which four teams are currently ranked in the top ten.

In other action tonight, the Crowley Gents will be on the road to take on the LaGrange Gators in a key District 3-4A meeting.

Crowley, ranked third in the latest 4A poll, has been impressive this year, with a 6-0 overall record and a 1-0 district mark, while LaGrange is 3-2 overall, with only losses to Notre Dame and Evangel, while standing 1-0 in district play.

Another big game tonight is the District 5-A contest that will have the Westminster Crusaders traveling to meet the Basile Beatcats.

Westminster has surprised this season, at 4-2, overall, and 0-1 in district play, while Basile, ranked #10 in the latest poll, is currently 5-1, overall, and 1-0 in district play.

In other action tonight, Church Point will travel to Pine Prairie, Notre Dame will host West St. Mary, Iota hosts Westlake, and St. Edmund will be on the road to take on Catholic-Point Coupee.
