5 Cajuns Will Pursue Their NFL Teams After Going Undrafted

Five Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will pursue their NFL dreams after inking free agent deals and being invited to NFL rookie mini camps following the draft this weekend.

Wide receiver Jamal Robinson signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. While his route running needs improvement at the next level, his size (6'4, 205 lbs), hands, strength (24 reps of 225 at pro day) and speed (4.47 in the 40 yard dash) and overall skill set make him a strong candidate to make the roster.

As is the case with all undrafted free agents and mini-camp invites, making a mark on special teams will increase the odds of making a 53 man NFL squad.

Linebacker Dominique Tovell looks to leave an imprint just down the road, signing an undrafted deal with the New Orleans Saints. Tovell led the Cajuns in tackles and sacks in 2015. At 6'3, 205 lbs, Tovell used his quickness and high football IQ to play multiple linebacker positions during his collegiate career. An effective blitzer with a high ceiling on special teams, he'll look to make a strong impression on Sean Payton and crew.

Offensive tackle Mykhael Quave can play both guard and offensive tackle. He protected the blindside of Cajun quarterbacks consistently, starting every game of his career until a shoulder injury forced ended his senior season prematurely after week 4. He has a big personality fitting for the Big Apple, where he'll look to make the New York Giants roster after receiving a camp invite.

Offensive lineman Donovan Williams didn't talk much during his two seasons with the Cajuns, but his play at guard spoke volumes. He started all 25 games as a Cajun after transferring from Blinn College. "Big Mute" agreed to a mini-camp invite with the Chicago Bears.

Linebacker and pass rushing specialist Darzil Washington accumulated 2 sacks in 9 game appearances last season. The Seattle Seahawks liked the film enough on Washington to invite him to rookie mini-camp.
