25 teams from the Acadiana area will be in action on Friday night, as week one of the 2014 LHSAA playoffs begins in full force.

In the non-select brackets, 11 Acadiana area teams still have state championship aspirations.

In the Class 5A bracket, 8th-seeded Carencro will host 25th-seeded Covington, while 15th-seeded Acadiana will entertain 18th-seeded St. Amant.

In Class 4A, four Acadiana area teams remain, after #27 Cecilia was eliminated by #6 Landry-Walker, 38-29, on Thursday night.

#13 Crowley will host #20 East Jefferson, #14 Rayne will host #19 Leesville, and #15 Breaux Bridge will play host to #18 West Ouachita, while #26 Northside will be on the road to take on #7 North Desoto.

In the Class 3A bracket, 2nd-seeded Church Point hosts 31st-seeded Brusly, and 11th-seeded Jennings hosts 22nd-seeded Miller-McCoy Academy, while two area teams will be competing against one another, as 13th-seeded Kaplan will host 20th-seeded Northwest.

In Class 2A, #8 Loreauville will host #25 Jonesboro-Hodge, while #22 Delcambre travels to #11 Vinton.
