The 2014 Major League Baseball postseason has given fans many exciting moments, with the American League and National League Championship Series still on the horizon.

In the American League, the Kansas City Royals, who qualified for the postseason for the first time since 1985, defeated the Oakland A's, 9-8, in 12 innings in the AL wild card game, before eliminating the Los Angeles Angels, 3 games-to-1, in the American League Division Series, while the Baltimore Orioles, who qualified for the postseason for the first time since 1967, eliminated the Detroit Tigers, 3 games-to-1 in the ALDS.

The Royals will meet the Orioles in a best-of-seven game American League Championship Series, beginning on Friday night.

In the National League, the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Los Angles Dodgers, 3 games-to-1 in the National League Divisional Series, while the San Francisco Giants eliminated the Washington Nationals 3 games-to-1, in the NLDS, after advancing past the Pittsburgh Pirates, 8-0, in the NL wild card game.

The Giants, who will be in the NLCS for the third time in the last five years, will take on the Cardinals, who will be playing in their fourth-consecutive NLCS, in a best-of-seven game series, beginning on Saturday night.
