1985: KPLC story on Cajuns getting NIT bid over McNeese

You may remember this.  USL lost in the quarterfinals of the Southland Tournament.  In fact, they lost their last five games to finish with a 16-13 record.  The Cajuns had quit practicing, thinking their season was over.  McNeese had a star player in Joe Dumars, won 20 games and beat the Cajuns twice.  But when postseason bids were announced, Louisiana Tech and Karl Malone were in the NCAA’s.  Lamar and USL were in the NIT.  And McNeese was left at home……fuming
