Six UL Softball Players Named To All-Sun Belt Team

Six members of Louisiana's Ragin’ Cajun softball team were named to All-Sun Belt Teams, which were released by the league office on Tuesday night.

First baseman Matte Haack, catcher Sarah Draheim, outfielder Brianna Cherry, shortstop Nerissa Myers and pitcher Jordann Wallace all picked up first team honors, while outfielder Shellie Landry was named to the All-Sun Belt Second Team.

Louisiana, who finished their regular season with an overall record of 40-11, winning 40 or more games for the 15th-consecutive season, is the third-seed in the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, which begins on Wednesday, in Troy, Alabama.

South Alabama shortstop Brittany Fowler won Player of the Year, while WKU's Emily Rousseau captured Pitcher of the Year, and South Alabama third baseman Haley Fagan won Freshman of the Year honors.

WKU's Tyra Perry was selected as Coach of the Year.
